1. Who we are
“ThemeTeller”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operators of themeteller.com. ThemeTeller is an independent research tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the ecommerce platforms or theme vendors it may identify.
2. The service
ThemeTeller lets you submit the URL of a public storefront and, in response, returns details we can verify about the theme that store appears to be running, along with a confidence signal. Detection runs server-side and is best-effort. The service is provided free of charge and without any account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use ThemeTeller only for lawful research, inspiration, and discovery purposes. You will not:
- Submit URLs that you know lead to private, password-protected, or otherwise non-public resources.
- Use the service to attempt to bypass authentication, paywalls, access controls, or any security measure of a third-party site.
- Send automated or high-volume traffic in a way that would constitute a denial-of-service attack against ThemeTeller or any third-party storefront.
- Use the service to harass, defame, or infringe the rights of any third party, or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying detection logic in ways that disrupt or degrade the service.
We may rate-limit, block, or suspend access to the service at any time and without notice if we believe it is being misused.
4. Third-party storefronts and trademarks
When you submit a URL, ThemeTeller fetches the same publicly accessible page that any visitor with a browser could view. We do not control those storefronts and are not responsible for their content, performance, or terms.
Platform names, theme names, brand names, and logos that may appear in detection results belong to their respective owners. They are referenced only for identification and research purposes and do not imply any affiliation, endorsement, or partnership.
5. Detection results
Theme detection is provided “as is” and on a best-effort basis. Results are inferred from public signals and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, especially for heavily customised themes, headless setups, or stores that intentionally obscure these signals. Always verify any result before relying on it for commercial, contractual, or legal decisions.
6. Intellectual property
ThemeTeller, including its branding, copy, code, and design, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. Nothing on the site grants you any rights in third-party marks or content.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThemeTeller and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to USD 50.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ThemeTeller and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
10. Changes to the service or these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ThemeTeller is operated, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
